When I started writing the style icon articles I knew straight away that I’d be doing one for Jude Law at some point. I’d say when I was personally developing my own style he was definitely one of my ‘model’s. I’d have a few pictures in my lookbook of him. As I’ve said in the past if you’re keen in developing you’re own style, lookbook’s are a great resource to use for inspiration and also to track your own progress. As for people in the public eye his style for me exudes a classic Brit vibe.
Jude Law was brought up by his school teacher parents in London before getting into acting around the age of 12. As far his style goes he is usually really well groomed which always makes one look more polished. When you see him stepping out on the red carpet or on an evening he can usually be found in well tailored suits, ties and waist coats. He is very classic in the way he dresses, not being fond of trends, however keeps his style up beat and modern by layering classic tailored pieces with casual staples like deep v neck tees.
His style is a good starting point to emulate if you are taking the first steps to improving your own style. You can look stylish and keep it simple, which is what I think Jude Law has down to a tee. His more casual attire is made up knits, tees and jeans in neutral colours, accessorised by items like chunky knitted hats and scarves for cooler weather.
I think one of the key things you can learn from Jude Law is that style is about keeping it simple. Quite often we see celebrities in luxury items or pieces that only a celebrity can get away with. Jude Law’s style can easily be achieved by anybody with a reasonable budget as it relies on classic staples that every guy ought to own.

I love how Jude always looks clean-cut and pulled-together, but never overdone. That is a tricky balance, but he seems to have mastered it. And that hat his is sporting in the last picture? Love. Great choice for a style icon.

P.S.
I read your timeline story about how you got into fashion…it was very cool and an enjoyable read!
I’m glad you enjoyed reading my time line. I always find it interesting to know who the author of a blog is so I wanted to make sure people who read my blog knew as much information about me as possible.
Thanks for commenting.
Ah! Yes, I can really see the influence in your own style. Jude Law is clearly a good style approach to emulate.
He’s quite stylish indeed, and so is his current lady Sienna Miller 🙂 Stylish couple!

He is inpecable in just about every way.
I applaude your choice for a style icon!!
For me, a style icon is someone who can pull off looking good, put-together and chic yet someone who doesn’t go overboard with the latest trends just to be seen as part of the in-crowd.
Jude Law does that flawlessly.
(Have to agree with the girls above, Sienna isn’t all that bad herself when it comes to fashion. She’s one of my favs!)
The casual tees beneath well-tailored suits/blazers are absolutely hot, unisexily.
PS. I definitely opt for tea > coffee; I feel so detoxed after my morning or evening cup 🙂 And I would wholly support spending a little extra for those specialty tights! I was merely referring to the basic nylons in every woman’s wardrobe. Do you’ve a favorite type to see on the ladies/girl friend? I was a fan of lace for a while, but I realized a fun alternative: regular nylons layered with lace-topped thigh-highs: http://lookbook.nu/files/looks/large/482464_idpls_copy.jpg?1266283901
