How To Navigate Your Lingerie Draw

September 27, 2011 by Arash Mazinani 6 Comments

I’ve been planning writing this post for a while, but have just never got round to it. The concept came to me when I was going through my own underwear draw and discarding of any holy socks and pants that had lost their elasticity. I’d allowed it to get in a bit of a state and as you do when you’re clearing things out I ended up finding things in their I’d forgotten were there. So I thought I’d do a short post just giving you a few helpful hints if your underwear looks like a bomb has hit it.

  • Just like your wardrobe your underwear draw needs a regular clear out. In fact it probably needs clearing out more often, you’ll be wearing it a lot more frequently. So go through and get rid of anything that doesn’t fit, looks a bit battered, has holes in or has lost it’s elasticity. There is no excuse for bad underwear, in fact your underwear is the most important piece of your whole outfit, it’s the foundation everything is built on.
  • Once you’ve decided what you’re throwing out you can start to get some organisation in your draw. Before you start putting things back choose how you’re going to separate it. You can arrange it based on colour… based on type or even how often you wear them. You can arrange it which ever way will work best for you.

  • What I’d recommend is that you invest in some draw dividers which are usually like grids that you slot into draws, this will help keep your different piles separate. It will also mean that when you come to have a clear out next time round it will be a much easier job because everything won’t be jumbled together.
  • If you need any new lingerie to replace the old battered pieces then nows the time to go out and invest. Make sure if you haven’t done so for a while, get yourself measured, now your draw is nice and neat your new underwear will slot right in.

Well those are a few tips that will help you navigate your lingerie draw, if you have any other tips or ideas then let us know by leaving a comment.

I really do that from time to time: clearing out my underwear drawer. Drawer dividers would be nice…I usually make different stacks, depending on style, but after a few weeks they get messed up, so here we go again!!!

yeah you need to keep on top of them so it doesn’t get all messy again.

Strangely enough, while this seems like common sense, I’ve yet to practice these tips. The drawer is full of items that don’t fit, I don’t wear etc. Ok, today is clean out day. Thanks, buddy.

This is actually something I’m really glad I read because it kind of cause one of those “Oh man, I really need to do this!” moments. I’m guilty of having pieces in my drawer that I purposely continually shove into the back of my drawer, either because I don’t like their fit, or their look. Why they are still in my drawer even though they never get worn is beyond me. The worst part is probably that what now takes space in two drawers could easily be condensed into one if I would just get rid of things.

Yeah you eventually have to bite the bullet and get stuck in, you’ll thank yourself for doing so.
