Style Icons is continuing the trend of new features we’re doing at the moment, it’ll be a series of articles each featuring a celebrity or someone in the media that we consider a style icon. There’s no one better at the moment than Cheryl Cole, guys and girls will both agree she consistently looks stunning, but the biggest appeal is she hasn’t always got it right.
In the early days of girls aloud she was more likely to be spotted wearing a tracksuit than Herve Leger. However, as her career blossomed so did her style, transforming her look from chav to designer chic and even getting on the cover of Vogue magazine. In 2009 she won Style Network’s and Glamour’s best dressed woman of the year and then style icon of the decade! Quite a turn around! She followed it up by winning Glamour’s best dressed woman of 2010.

So what makes her so special? Well it’s a rarity that you see her looking less than immaculately put together these days and she has that envious ability to look good in almost anything, whether it be ready to step out in a designer dress on the red carpet or in jeans and a t shirt for a day of shopping. You can’t really put your finger on one particular look as she’s expertly navigated each season’s trends while mixing it up with classic staples.
Grooming is an important aspect to her overall look and key to her continuous features in the glossy style mags. While she has swapped the tracksuit for the designer wardrobe she has also upped the stakes in the grooming department. Her hair and make up is always perfectly done regardless of the occasion.
While we can’t all have our own stylist and make up artist we can take a few lessons from chezza. Grooming can make or break your overall look; take the time out to make sure your hair and make up is done whether it’s a Saturday night or you’re just stepping out to the shops. Pay attention to the little things as these can be the deal breaker between a sleek, polished look. So that means no loose threads hanging off your dress, check your nail polish is not chipped and make sure your clothes fit you well, even if you can’t afford designer, well fitting clothes will look more expensive.
Here’s a host of looks we’ve found to give you a bit of inspiration.
She’s so cute. :0)
