Are you craving that warm weather? Itching to break out your spring wardrobe?
I hold my hand up, I’m a bit late with this one. I know the spring summer collections are already on the high street and we’ve even been enjoying the occasional sunny day in Leeds. But I still wanted to get this post out there, because lets face it… who doesn’t like perusing the trends? Who knows, you just might come across one that you’ve not seen yet.
I thought I’d run through some of my favourites as well from the season. But before I do that lets just talk trends. If you hadn’t noticed they seem to be a bit out of control again this season, with micro trends popping up everywhere. You know when the sun comes out, it becomes acceptable to rock pastels and nautical themed pieces. They’ve gone beyond merely being ‘trends’ now. Oh, while we’re at it, you can throw tribal into the mix too. It comes back every year with a new label. So if you’ve got any pieces that tick those boxes you can file them under your ‘classics’ section.
If you want the skinny, or fancy a recap, on the hottest trends for this spring summer then click the picture below and it’ll take you to my Pinterest board with all the hottest looks.
Usually sequins are only acceptable for evening wear and at Christmas time. So if you get a pass to wear them when the sun is shining then I say take it! Just imagine walking down the street, shimmering in August.
For most people, summer means colour! But I know there’s a few of us out there that love wearing black. You need not worry about the those snobbish colour worshippers this season because monochrome’s back for spring summer!
I’ve not been a massive fan of sports luxe in the past. I don’t know, maybe it didn’t have enough glamour for me. But I feel this year, there were a few looks on the catwalk I really digged. Like this little outfit from the Emilio Pucci collection. I’ve also noticed sports luxe taking over the high street this year too.
I know you’re probably thinking “we’ve been here before”. But I liked how this trend had it’s little micro off shoots. You had sheer lace, as in the picture below. But you also had grunge sheer and more romantic, florally sheer looks. It is a trend that seems to come round each season but I did feel this year you could have it served a number of ways.
The slogans are back. I guess I thought this would transition from the catwalk to the high street faster than it has. But as of yet I’ve not seen many slogan items, I’m almost certain they’ll appear as we get deeper into summer though.
I love reading and replying to all my comments and will click-through to say ‘hello’ and visit you on your site. I usually end up working with those of you that do comment in some capacity, whether it be a guest post or Google hangout.
What trends are you most looking forward to?
